Best Pastor Resignation Letter Sample (Congregation Resignation) [2022]
A pastor resignation letter or church resignation letter is a professional business letter informing a church administration of the impending resignation of a pastor, senior pastor, church leader, minister, deacon, youth pastor, interim pastor, or another church employee. The resignation letter informs church administration or church members of the resignation. For the administration, the resignation letter serves as a human resources tool to formally resign. While the church member note informs church visitors and patrons of the decision to move to another opportunity on behalf of the pastor.
Depending on the organization, the pastor may be a staff member of the church and may need to submit the resignation letter to the church board and decide how the staff will oversee the transition of the church leadership.

Dear Members of the Clergy —
It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you of my impending resignation. It is time for me to consider new places to practice god’s word and god’s grace. It has been an incredible privilege to be part of this family. Every Sunday morning meeting and speaking to each family member has been nothing short of a blessing. Each Sunday, walking in and hearing the church choir practicing while seeing each face created by Christ has been special to me. When I close my eyes, that is what I see.
As I move onto a new opportunity for my family, I want you to be assured that the leadership that is part of this church is nothing short of incredible. And as a local church, our volunteers, leadership, and pastoral ministry will ensure a smooth transition to a new pastor and spiritual leader.
I will continue to say a prayer every night for the family that is part of this great religious organization and word of the word. The congregation will continue every Sunday, and the church family will continue to meet. I urge each person who would like to spend time with me to schedule their allotted time and discuss the changes if they feel the need to.
I want to say thank you to the leadership team and the lord for this incredible opportunity to lead each Sunday service and congregation.
Thank you so much and bless you all,
Pastor Mark
